The US Run and Gun Association (USRGA) is excited to announce the inaugural 2018 Lone Star Armory Run and Gun Series Opener held at the renowned Triple C Shooting Range in Cresson, TX, just Southwest of Fort Worth. This event will consist of the first run and gun race in the 2018 Lone Star Armory Run and Gun Series followed by a concert featuring Texas County Stars Matt Wayne, Phil Hamilton, Aaron Copeland, and Eric Willis and dinner catered by Barbecue on the Brazos on Saturday and an award ceremony on Sunday. Participants on either day are invited to attend both the dinner and concert on Saturday and awards ceremony on Sunday. There are also tickets available for just the dinner and concert for those who just came along to be a spectator. This is a family-friendly event and kids 10 and under are free for the dinner and concert.
The 2018 Lone Star Armory Run and Gun Series Opener will consist of a walk/run between five and seven miles with six to eight shooting stages. Although running is not a requirement, this is a physical event over rough terrain and participants are encouraged to prepare accordingly. The shooting stages are designed to test the strengths and weaknesses of each individual shooter. Whether this is your first run and gun or your 50th, you should leave feeling both challenged and encouraged. Participants are expected to know how to operate their firearms prior to arrival at the event. Basic firearm safety is to be observed at all times.
In an effort to reduce wait times and increase flexibility, we have implemented a heat system for start times. Tickets for specific heat times are sold on a first come, first serve basis. You are encouraged to purchase your ticket early if you need a specific heat time. Participants need to arrive 30 to 45 minutes prior to the start of their heat in order to check in and attend the safety briefing.
